I bought 2. One had problems from the get-go, and ultimately showed S.M.A.R.T. failure. It was still working, but I requested a replacement from Western Digital. The second drive and the replacement have been working well.
These are in MacBooks, by the way.
Customer Review: Huge, Fast & Quiet…Very Efficient!!!
I am using macbook core 2 duo 13.3″. ‘Been using it for about a year & it’s hard drive is only 80GB so understandably need to upgrade it. I chose 320GB SATA as I learned there are other 2.5″ hard drives that may not fit into macbook (i.e., IDE hard drive). WD is the cheapest, has a very good reliability based on several reviews and has a quiet technology thing which I don’t fully understand. Anyways, the idea sounds great so I decided to go for it.

First I checked out the youtube demo on how to DIY. I had no problem installing it and it work just fine. I divided it into 2 virtual parts with 150GB each (20GB is consumed in formatting the hard drive). Then I used my old hard drive as external/portable drive after transferring files into my new hard drive. It’s been over a month now…no problem so far…it’s quiet, fast and efficient. Buy Here
