Customer Review: Not what I wanted
I wanted to have a bootable drive in case my laptop hard drive died. Went to support site and find out ‘it was not designed for that’.
So it did it’s sync thing, space used up, and I’m looking around and don’t find my folders, nothing !? I guess they are somewhere but the software is terrible … e.g. tells you nothing. You shouldn’t have to dig for this stuff today.
It’s no wonder they have such a huge support site.
I got by desktop bootable drive on sale for $100 but others want $+more for a bootable. Mine saved me a HUGE headache. Drive crashed. Plugged in the backup and PCClone software asks ‘ do you want to do a total restore ?’.
If only.

Customer Review: Don’t Buy Until You Read This
Everything Ryuji Suzuki wrote is correct. A Windows laptop can’t power it via the USB cable. (None of my laptops can power it via the USB cable, and I’m using a new HP Pavilion.) Thus, you have to buy a $40 power cable from a place like Radio Shack. (Thanks, Western Digital. Nice trick.) The device worked for about a two years, then Windows had problems recognizing the drive, “Error 24″. A complete reinstall of XP didn’t help. Western Digital–in addition to poor tech support–doesn’t even provide a downloadable driver to attempt to reinstall it. WD’s solution is to just send back the old drive for a new old–of course, if it’s still under warranty. Buy Here

Customer Review: Dissapointing
I was dissapointed with this product. The documentation that comes with it is poor, and when I called their Tech support to get help on a password change issue, they couldn’t help. I think they are just learning he product themselves. I had hoped it required biometrics to function, but after buying it and booting up found that EITHER the biometrics or a password works. Finally, I decided to go ahead and load my data on to use it anyway, but then when I powered it up a couple weeks later to access my secure data, all I got was a dim light and a slight noise indicating the hard drive was functioning—but the computer wouldn’t recognize it. So I sent it back to Amazon for a refund.

1) PATA drive not SATA
2) you need the software on every computer for the fingerprint to come up.
3) Appears as a USB storage device not a hard drive
4) looks cheap and the labels on it just sticker obviously caravl got the encloser from china and the cheapest hard drive it can find and put them together.

Customer Review: complete waste of money
this item is a complete waste of money right out of the box it does not function properly and it only has two thirds the storage space the manufacturer claims it does.
furthermore there text support is a joke as there is never ever anyone there to answer there phones or respond to customer emails for help or complaints.
also the better business bureau has an extremely high number of complaints against the manufacturer of this product. please do not order this product or anything else this company makes get something from a different company.
